Love's TravelThe Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals will hear the request for two variances of standards by Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores of Oklahoma during their December meeting.
Love’s Travel Stops is seeking a variance for general landscaping requirements for the parking lot areas of the proposed truck stop, convenience store, tire shop and fast food restaurant. They are hoping to avoid installing landscape islands in the truck parking area as well as the car parking. Love’s also has an issue with the perimeter requirements for the parcel which is located north of US 30 and south of Gary Drive and west of Pioneer Drive.
Plymouth Planning Consultant Ralph Booker said, “They are not opposed to landscaping, they have submitted a plan but it doesn’t meet the city’s standards.”
The second variance from the development standard is for signage. Love’s would like to increase the sign pole height and size and increase the size of a second sign and increase the total number of signs to five.
Booker said the projects along US 31 includes the truck stop/convenience store of 7,500 square feet, an attached fast food restaurant similar to Arbys with a square footage of 2,600 feet and a tire shop that will sit to the west of 7,500 square feet.
Love’s Travel Stop plans to open in Plymouth next summer.
The Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals will hear the requests at their December 2nd meeting in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend and comments and questions are also welcome.
