Sheriff's Star BadgeOperating while intoxicated continues to top the list of reasons why people are booked into the Marshall County Jail.
Marshall County Sheriff Tom Chamberlin released the September activity report which lists the top ten offenses for booking into the county jail. After OWI is failure to appear, theft, probation violation and dealing in cocaine or meth. Number six on the list is driving while suspended, operator never licensed, marijuana, possession of cocaine or meth and battery rounds out the top ten list.
There were a total of 144 inmates booked into the Marshall County Jail in September. Argos police made one arrest while Bremen officers arrested 7 males and 3 females. Culver police arrested 2 males and Troopers with the Indiana State Police arrested 3 males and 2 females. Plymouth officers arrested 21 males and 11 females while the Marshall County Sheriff’s officers arrested 42 males and 11 females.
County officers investigated 50 accident reports last month, 40 property damage and 10 involved personal injury. County officer also took 67 case reports and wrote 134 citations.
