MCEDC_buildingThe Marshall County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) launched new website Friday with improved messaging and a new design to market and promote the county as a prime location for business expansion and new investment.

“MCEDC, community leaders, and volunteers have spent a majority of the summer visiting with local businesses to learn, and sometimes ground past research as to why businesses operate in Marshall County,” stated Bill Davis, President of the MCEDC Board of Directors. “The new website, www.marshallcountyedc.org, will be used to promote this information, and is a component of an overall strategic plan to grow the economy. We are proud to unveil it to the community and to the business world.”

The home page was reorganized to focus on key strategic business advantages that companies benefit from when operating in Marshall County. These advantages, and other factors based upon specific needs, are evaluated when a company conducts a site search to determine where to locate a new facility.

Advantages specific to Marshall County include our prime location within the established Midwest manufacturing corridor, easy accessibility to significant consumer and supplier markets via robust road and rail transportation systems, a stable and strong workforce with an excellent work ethic, a low cost of doing business, and state and local fiscal stability.

Other additions to the home page include links to information on Marshall County’s business sector, highlights on the current Marshall County economy focusing on recent expansion announcements with projected capital investment and job creation statistics, key economic indicators, and accolades and recognitions ranking Indiana as a “best state for business”. Such information reveals that our local and state economy is growing making it attractive for future investment from current and new businesses.

As a marketing tactic, the website also includes information on available sites and buildings, socio-economic and other community data, and state and local incentives available to encourage existing business expansions, attract new businesses, and cultivate entrepreneurial endeavors.

Developing a new website was a marketing initiative included in MCEDC’s new strategic plan to grow the economy in Marshall County.
