01/22/14 Elkhart County – The Indiana State Police are continuing the investigation of the Martins Super Market shooting that took place last Wednesday night in Elkhart.

Detectives involved in the case have worked tirelessly over the last five days and continue to look at all facets of the crime.

The state police are unable to comment on a suspected motive of the shooter, Shawn Bair, or any relationship that may or may not have existed between Bair, his victims, and Martins Super Market.

The Indiana State Police has received several Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for copies of the in-store video and 911 tapes. The state police are not releasing either as they are part of an ongoing investigation.

An update in the case is not expected until the investigation has been completed and reviewed by the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office. At this time state police are unable to predict a time line for when that might happen.
