CentennialPark_enteranceMonday evening Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi told members of the Plymouth Park Board that he had just learned Monday afternoon a local couple has decided to donate a parcel of land in Gill Park.

Arnold and Dawn McHargue will be donating one lot to the city that has river access. About a month ago the city sent a request to see if they might be interested in donating the lot to the city. That confirmation call came Monday.

Surrisi said “because we have the Greenway Trail project underway now there are a couple of extra steps that must be taken if the trail were to go over any of that land.” She said the transfer should be complete within the next month.

Park Superintendent Mike Hite told members of the Park Board that the old lights at Nixon Field were taken down on Monday and new footings will be required for the new lights which won’t be installed until spring. Hite assured the board that the lights would be ready by the first baseball game.
