01/03/14 Residents of Miller’s Senior Living Community celebrated New Year’s Eve in grand style.  They were treated to a prime rib luncheon.  Following the delicious lunch they rocked in the New Year with their favorite rock-n-roll crooner, Quentin Flagg.

The party began with Miller’s volunteers passing out party hats, noise makers and party poppers at 1:30 in the afternoon.  Flagg kept the energy high with fun rock and roll songs from the 50’s and 60’s artists such as Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, Elvis, Ricky Nelson and many more.   Champagne and sparkling grape juice was distributed and Flagg led the audience in a countdown at 1:59 p.m.  Precisely at 2:00 p.m. balloons dropped from the balcony as “Auld Lang Syne” played in the background.  Activity Director Cindy Flagg shared a toast for the New Year as the residents and guests shot off their party poppers.  Flagg continued his show while balloons were batted around, residents danced and staff formed a conga line.

It has become a tradition to celebrate the coming of the New Year early in the day at Miller’s.  This then gives residents a chance to celebrate later in the evening with family and friends or some choose to watch the ball drop at Times Square in the privacy of their own apartment.
