02/20/14 Miller’s Assisted Living residents enjoyed a lovely homemade Valentine meal on the evening of February 14th while listening to beautiful harp melodies.  The evening menu included shrimp cocktail, beef tips with button mushrooms and sautéed onions over noodles, fresh asparagus and a crusty roll.  Angel food cake with fresh strawberries was served for dessert.  Volunteer Tracie Wilson acted as wine steward for the evening.  Her daughters Autumn and Makayla helped decorate and also served the shrimp cocktail appetizer.

Harpist Anna Hagen of Goshen provided the dinner music.  Hagen is an entrepreneurial teen who is home educated.  She loves music, literature and art and is studying to be a writer through a long distance collegiate learning program called CollegePlus.

Hagen began playing harp at the age of nine on a 36 string Triplet Signature lever harp which is a mid-size harp with a beautiful shape and a magnificent sound. She nicknamed the beautiful instrument Sigi, short for Signature.  Sigi is light weight and transportable and is Hagen’s primary harp for outdoor weddings, and senior living facilities.  For more info about Hagen or to hire her for an event you may go to her website www.annahagenharpist.com.

As the evening came to a close each resident received a box of Valentine conversation hearts and a Valentine card from Activity Director Cindy Flagg.  For more information about upcoming public events at Miller’s call 574-936-9801 and ask for Anna Corbett.
