Miller’s Senior Living Community Campus honored their 2013-2014 volunteers at a baked potato and salad bar Wednesday evening, April 23rd.  The banquet began at 6:30 p.m. in the Oak Hill Café at Miller’s Assisted Living facility.  Dietary staff prepared the homemade meal.

Using a quote from Winnie the Pooh, “Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart”; the Miller’s staff chose a Disney Theme for the banquet. Following the meal Activity Director Cindy Flagg (Assisted Living) and Assistant Recreational Director Becky Hooley (Nursing Facility) told a little about each volunteer and the special things they do for the residents and for the facility.  Each volunteer was presented with a certificate of appreciation.

“So many of our volunteers say “oh, I didn’t do anything’,” Flagg stated. “But, that just is not true!  We could not run our programs with out our volunteers.  And it is often the smallest acts of kindness that our residents appreciate!”

Volunteers are so important to the life of each resident and to the Activity Department.  Flagg, Hooley, and Marketing Director Anna Corbett all expressed their sincere thanks to each volunteer.  They also thanked the parents of the younger volunteers who are faithful to get the young people to and from the facility.

There is always room for more volunteers at the facility.  Any person who would like to volunteer at Miller’s Senior Living Community should call Cindy Flagg or April Cooper.
