Plymouth_Speedway_NewClay_1Truckload after truckload of clay have been brought into the Plymouth Speedway the past couple of weekends to build a better racing surface for the 2015 season.

Plymouth_speedway_NewClay_2About a three-quarters of the track has new clay and the process is ongoing. The entire surface will be ready for the start of the season on April 25 for the Cabin Fever event. Practice will be open the weekend before the opening race in the track’s third season on dirt.

“We are dedicated to bring the best racing to the fans here in Northern Indiana,” said track owner Ed Kennedy. “This new surface will add grip and more grooves of racing. Expect more improvements as the new season gets started.”

Plymouth_Speedway_NewClay_3Plymouth Speedway officials are preparing for the 2014 Championship Banquet on January 24 at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. and awards at 7 p.m. ET. A special rate will be available for an overnight stay at the resort.
