Lane Dodson_shooting_0Indiana State Police are leading the investigating of an officer-involved shooting that happened in the K-Mart parking lot in Plymouth.

Lane Dodson_shooting_1The initial call came in around 6:15 p.m. Monday that officers were searching for a suspect involved in a reported domestic dispute that had happened last week.  The suspect was driving a white mini-van and was believed to be armed.

Lane Dodson_shooting_2An ISP officer located the suspect in the van and conducted a traffic stop in the K-Mart parking lot.  Waiting for backup officers from the Plymouth Police arrived on the scene and as they approached the suspect he reportedly raised his gun at officers and two of them fired back.

Lane Dodson_shooting_3A Plymouth police officer and an officer from the Indiana State Police fired their weapons injuring the suspect. Their names are not expected to be released until Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

Lane Dodson_shooting_4The suspect was transported to the Plymouth airport and airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital.  Police anticipate releasing his name late tonight.

No officers were injured in the incident.
