Ounce of Prevention to Host Bowling For Boobies Fundraiser

   01/31/14 Ounce of Prevention and Quick’s Lanes in Plymouth are joining forces to fight Breast Cancer in Marshall County with a new fundraising event, “Bowling for Boobies.”

On Saturday, March 1st enjoy a night of bowling, pizza, beer and fun.  Come out and wear your PINK and have a ball.  The Social starts at 6 p.m. with bowling time slots available in two sessions: 6:30 to 8:30 or 9 till11p.m.

The entry fee for “Bowling for Boobies” is $25.00 per person and bowling will be in foursomes.  You can sign up your own team or the girls from Ounce of Prevention will put you with another group to form the 4-person teams.

This event is for adults 21 or older and your $25 donation includes shoe-rental, 2 to 3 slice of pizza, a pitcher of beer per team and 2 hours of unlimited bowling at Quick’s Lanes.  Winners will receive prizes and they will have “Bowling for Boobies” T-shirts for sale as well as beer, wine, concessions and much more. 

Turn your entry fee and team or individual info into Gracie at Oliver Ford by Feb. 26th by making your check payable to Ounce of Prevention.  Credit cards can also be accepted.

    To clarify, we should have fun, fund-raising events … and thanks to Ounce of Prevention … but I’m offended bt the use of sexual slang when we need to be focused on women’s health. And, yes, I’ve lost a family member to the disease.

    Let’s dignify this battle against breast cancer by avoiding terms like “Ta-Ta’s” and “Boobies.” It‘s a very serious disease that deserves a serious response, without demeaning women’s anatomy.
