Sunday morning just before 1 Officer Cleveland was dispatched to 914 West Jefferson Street for a reported disturbance.
The two suspects, 29 year old Jeffery Owens and 34 year old Aaron Minch of 914 West Jefferson were allegedly in an altercation although their stories vary as to the location of the physical altercation, the evidence points towards Mr. Minch’s story. He claims Owens came onto his patio and attacked him and so he went inside and retrieved a metal pipe. When he came back onto the patio, Jeffery Owens was in the yard. Minich told him to leave but Owens allegedly charged at him on the patio.
Mr. Minch told Officer Cleveland he struck Mr. Owens once on the head and again in the side and he then retreated into the home.
Minch’s injuries consisted of a bruise to his jaw. Owens has a laceration to the head and a broken arm.
Jeffery Owens court date is June 17th in Superior Court II and his bond was set at $1505.
The prosecutor will review this case, although it is believed that Mr. Minch acted in self defense.
