Bremen Man Arrested as Fugitive of Justice

05/08/14 On Monday, May 5th at approximately 4:35 P.M. an officer with the Bremen Police Department conducted a traffic stop on 31 year old Christopher B. Hurley of Bremen.  Hurley was stopped for operating an ATV on city streets which is in violation of a city ordinance. It was discovered then that Mr. Hurley had a warrant for his arrest out of St. Joseph, Michigan for Fugitive of Justice.

Mr. Hurley was taken into custody and was transported to the Marshall County where he was held without bond for St. Joseph, Michigan.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed.  They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
