The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces periodic 15 minute complete closures of U.S. 31, between Kern Road and Jackson Road in South Bend on Tuesday, March 18 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. AEP crews will be relocating power lines across the roadway during these brief closures. The work is necessary to advance INDOT’s new U.S. 31 project. All traffic will be stopped, both northbound and southbound, between this stretch for about 15 minutes at a time, approximately five times throughout the day. The closures are necessary to ensure driver safety as crews work across the roadway.

To avoid delays drivers are encouraged to avoid U.S. 31 between Kern Road and Jackson Road in South Bend throughout the day tomorrow.
