On Wednesday evening, the Plymouth Softball team hosted their first ever Teacher Appreciation Night before their game against Wawasee.
Each girl on the team wrote a personal letter inviting a teacher they feel is making a difference. By attending the game, each teacher received a team poster, a signed softball, a decal and pizza provided by Papa Johns. It was a fun event to celebrate the teachers, and Mr. Beguin even threw out the first pitch. image.jpeg
Teachers honored at the game were – Mrs. McCollough, Mrs. McNeil, Ms. Faulstich, Mr. Riley, Mrs. Rodgers, Mrs. Cartwright, Mrs. Derifield, Mr. Beguin, Mrs. Gifford, Miss Dorland, Miss Warren, Ms Gidley, Mr. Boyer, and Mr. Coffman. Again, the Plymouth Softball team simply took Wednesday to say thank you for the  dedication of these teachers and the difference the try to make daily.
In the game, Wawasee was led by their starting freshman pitcher who dominated and jumped out quickly. With her speed, they never looked back and continued to build up the score.
In the top of the 5th the score was 14 – 0 but fortunately Zoe Keilman got a hit and worked her way around the bases. Emily Hopple put the ball in play while Zoe Keilman scored for the  lone run of the game. The Lady Pilgrims will travel to Napanee on Friday and then return home again on Monday to face Northridge at 5:00.
Final score- Wawasee 14
