Firefighters from the Plymouth Fire Department and Plymouth Police responded to 1300 block of South Michigan Street Friday afternoon for the report of smoke in an apartment at the front of Jackson Heights owned by Palbykin Enterprises.
When crews arrived on scene they evacuated the adjoining apartments and began to investigate the cause of the smoke.
Within a short time it was determined that a plugged furnace filter had caused condensation to drip onto the wiring causing the smoking. There was no fire and firefighters used a couple of fans to get the smoke smell out of the apartment.
No injuries were reported in this fire call.
