Red ribbon tie on polesThis week members of the Plymouth City Council approved two requests from residents and tabled action of the third for further review.
Linda Clevenger was granted approval to tie red ribbons on the light poles in the city’s downtown area as part of a drug awareness campaign. The council stipulated that she be responsible to remove the ribbons too.
The next request approve was for Michael Delp. Delp has farm ground south of town and has cleared a fence row and asked for permission to burn a brush-pile on his property. Fire Chief Rod Miller was aware of the request and had no issues.
The final request from a Plymouth resident was from Loretta Back at 323 West Madison Street. She is seeking a loading zone parking space at the home to allow her to get a handicap child in and out of a vehicle. Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt had some questions on the location since there is a grassy area between the sidewalk and the street. He indicated there is a paved parking pad saying, “The driveway is the logical spot for this transition.”
Back was not present at the meeting to explain her request and council members had concerns of enforcement of a loading zone sign. The Matter was tabled for further review.
