The Plymouth FFA chapter held their annual potluck meal and awards banquet on Thursday, May 15th, 2044 in the Plymouth High School Cafeteria. Many awards were given out over the course of the evening to outstanding FFA members.  A few of the awards and their winners are listed below. The Outstanding Freshman Award was taken by Frannie Bottorff. Lauren Goddard and Trenton Hall took the Outstanding Sophomore Award. Lilly Bottorff received the Outstanding Junior Award. Sarah Lindvall and Tucker Pletcher were both named Outstanding Seniors. The Purdue Outstanding Junior Award went to Lilly Bottorff  who is only one of 27 students in the State of Indiana to receive this award. The Star Greenhand Award was received by Frannie Bottorff.  Emily Denney,Makayla Fox, Taylor Shively, Makayla Depoy, Kaitlyn Hollar, Jason Slonaker received the Chapter FFA Pride Award, which recognizes the most active members. Tucker Pletcher was named the Chapter Star Farmer and Sarah  Lindvall took the Dekalb Agricultural Accomplishment Award, which recognizes the outstanding senior agriculture student.  

 

The senior members that are leaving the Plymouth FFA Chapter are Sarah Lindvall, Tucker Pletcher, Jason Slonaker, Makayla Fox, Emily Denney, Makayla Depoy, Jason Slonaker, Isabel Seago. To those seniors we wish the best of luck in your future. The Greenhand degree winners were Frannie Bottorrff Matt Roeder, Macy Warren, Kassie Dickey Mitchell Bachtel, Dylan Johnson, Rachel McCartney Isabel Seago, Daniel Vegso,. The Chapter FFA Degree winners were  Lauren Goddard, Jamie Thomas, Emily Denney Kara Gustafson, and Jason Slonaker. Tucker Pletcher qualified to receive his State Degree in June at the State FFA Convention.

 

 FFA members that competed in Career Development Events (CDE) and trips throughout the year were also recognized. The teams were Livestock Judging – Lauren Goddard, Jason Slonaker Makayla Fox, Lilly Bottorff, and Kaitlyn Hollar; Welding Event – Advanced- Jason Slonaker, Bryce Schollaert and Tucker Pletcher- Beginners-Trenton Hall and Damien White; Meats Judging- Lilly Bottorff, Lauren Goddard, Kaitlyn Hollar and Macy Warren; Crops Judging – Emily Denney, Makayla Depoy, Sarah Lindvall, and Tucker Pletcher; Small Engines- Trenton Hall and Daniel Vegso ; Leadership Development Event- Lilly Bottorff, Makayla Fox, Sarah Lindvall, Emily Denney, Daniel Vegso, and Macy Warren.  There were a lot of laughs as well as tears as everyone reminisced over the school year.

The 2013-2014 Retiring Chapter FFA Officer Team was also acknowledged.  Retiring officers included Sarah Lindval- President, Tucker Pletcher– Vice President, Emily Denney- Treasurer, Lilly Bottorff –Secretary, Lauren Goddard- Reporter, and Makayla Fox- Sentinel.   The newly inducted 2014-2015 FFA Chapter Officer Team is Lilly Bottorff- President, Kaitlyn Hollard- Vice President, Taylor Shively- Treasurer, and Lauren Goddard – Secretary.

Upcoming events for the Plymouth FFA Chapter include the Indiana State FFA Convention at Purdue University June 17-19 and implementation of an FFA Community Garden.
