After rain pushed Wednesday’s NLC match at Plymouth Country Club between Plymouth, Northridge, and Concord to Friday, rain threatened yet again.  This time however the moisture wasn’t enough to postpone only challenge the psyche.  As chilly as the temps were for spectators the competition was just as hot.  Northridge 154, Plymouth 158, Concord 163.

The split improved Plymouth’s record to 2-2 in round robin play with two matches next week remaining.  Tuesday Plymouth travels to McCormick Creek to face Northwood and Wawasee.  Thursday the Pilgrims travel to Maplecrest to face Goshen in a dual.

Junior Ben Schenk bounced back from last night’s horrific round to earn Medalist honors shooting an even par 36.  After 3 putting his opening hole for a bogey Ben parred 11 then birdied 12.  He proceeded to play the remaining 6 holes even par.  This was by far one of his best rounds of the season scrambling and getting up and down.

“I was proud of his concentration and perseverance tonight,” said Plymouth coach Ben Weymouth. “When he could have easily let the conditions and a few challenging leave shots affect him, he didnt.”

Senior Nate Kolter had a solid +1 round going until a bad break on 17 cost him two shots.  Nate finished with a respectable 39.

After an opening double bogey Senior Zach Craft settled down and regained his composure to card a 41.

Outside of a second double in his round Zach strung together quality shots and holes to finish his round with three consecutive pars.

Freshman Micah Calhoun also had a bounce back round finishing birdie birdie to shoot 42.  Reis Yoder failed to gain momentum in his round shooting 43.

The Plymouth JV picked up two big victories.  Plymouth 173, Northridge 176, Concord 238.  Sophomore Hudson Yoder tied for co-Medalist on the JV side with a 41.  The Pilgrim JV improves to 3-1 in Round Robin play.

Saturday morning the Varsity competes in the 52nd annual CMA Invitational at Mystic Hills.  The JV travels to LaPorte to compete at Legacy Hills vs several Northwest Indiana teams.
