Handcuffs-new08/04/14 On Friday, August 1st at approximately 9:00 A.M. Officer John Weir with the Plymouth Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle for expired licenses plates at Michigan and Williams Streets. While speaking to the driver, 26 year old Derek Sallee of Plymouth it was discovered that he was driving while suspended with a prior charge of same offense. Mr. Sallee was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $1,505 bond. Lyons Towing assisted with the impound of the motorcycle.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
