Crash_School bus SR17&Sr8About a dozen children were riding Plymouth School bus number 29 home after school on Tuesday when the bus was rear-ended by a pick-up truck. The crash occurred about 4 p.m. on State Road 17 just north of State Road 8.

Crash_School Bus SR17&SR8_2Marshall County Police Officer Jonathan Bryant investigated the accident and learned that the school bus had just dropped off a student and was stopped with its lights on and the stop arm out.

Crash_School Bus SR17&SR8_3A north bound pick-up drive by Trenton Hall failed to yield to the stopped bus and plowed into the back of it. Hall told Officer Bryant that his foot got caught between the brake and gas pedal and he was unable to stop in time.

Crash_School Bus SR17&SR8_4The pick-up sustained major front end damage while the bus only sustained minor damage to the back passenger’s side bumper.

Crash_School Bus SR17&SR8_5None of the children still on the bus were injured in the accident. The Plymouth School bus was driven by Rich Mc Michael.

Crash_School Bus SR17&SR8_6The driver of the pick-up truck, Trenton Hall sustained a minor laceration to the back of his head and refused treatment at the scene. He was transported by family members to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center for treatment.
