PrintAlthough no details are being released, Plymouth Schools Superintendent Daniel Tyree has confirmed that Jefferson Elementary Principal, Angie Mills, is on a paid leave from the school. Additionally, a teacher is out on paid leave; however, there has been no indication released that the circumstances for their leaves are related.

Tyree emailed a letter to both the staff at Jefferson and the parents of students attending there that Mills is on a leave. He said, “I don’t know how long that the leave will last. Hopefully, it will be a short term leave.”

School officials are not at liberty to discuss why the employees were put on leave because the situations are a personnel matter.

Tyree said administrators from the central office along with PCSC Director of PBL at the Innovation Academy will oversee the administration duties during Mills’ leave.

Mills is in her third year as principal at Jefferson. For the past two years, Jefferson has been named an “A” school by the Indiana State Board of Education.

Mills has been an integral part of leading the creation of preschool programs at Jefferson. PCSC recently received a Title I grant approval for a preschool program for students between the ages of four and five. Jefferson School is also the site of a Title III funded preschool class that is currently serving 18 EL/Migrant students.
