PCSC_Judi LykowskiPlymouth Schools newly hired PR/Marketing Coordinator, Judi Lykowski, will have to maintain a fast pace to keep up with all the events and happenings taking place in the seven schools in the corporation. But after juggling broadcasting assignments for over a decade and a half, it will be second nature to her.
Lykowski will begin each school day teaching interactive media at Plymouth High School. She has held an Indiana State license as a Workplace Specialist since 2008. She is also pursuing additional licensure that will likely be extended due to her long list of broadcasting experiences, including 4000 hours at ABC 57 postings online videos and other interactive media as a multi-media specialist.
She began her broadcasting career in 2006 as a production assistant at WSJV Fox 28 News. She continued to hold positions including reporting in various other media outlets including WNDU FM, South Bend, IN; WPBN/WTOM 7 & 4 News, Traverse City, MI; WZZM 13 News, Grand Rapids, MI; and WNDU-TV, South Bend.
Lykowski currently accepts assignments as a freelance on-air correspondent for WNIT for Experience Michiana, South Bend.
Beginning in 2007, she was the Public Relations Specialist for South Bend Community School Corporation. Her duties included, but were not limited to, executing awareness and reputation building opportunities and creation of PSA’s for TV, Radio and Social Media.
From 2008-2013 her work shifted to teaching CTE (Career Technical Education) Radio/TV Broadcasting for the school system.
Although budget cuts with the SBCSC meant the elimination of the position, Lykowski said she realized how much she enjoyed the teaching aspect and began earnestly contacting other school systems to offer her expertise.
Among other things, she will be maintaining Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, likened, and Pinterest accounts for the Plymouth School district.
