The Plymouth Lady Pilgrims finished their 6 game week with games against Warsaw, Whiting, and Pioneer on Friday and Saturday.

Results from the end of the week included a loss against a tough hitting team on Friday against rival Warsaw. On the day Warsaw had 2 home runs and 12 hits total on their way to a 12-0 victory. Samantha Wojcik and Bre Martin were both 1-2 on the day.

Then Plymouth hopped on the bus for a double header in Whiting on Saturday. In the first game, Whiting was led by strong pitching as the Pilgrims were unable to reach the bases until the final inning. Whiting managed to score 12 runs in the game but the Pilgrims defense was highlighted by turning 3 double plays.

In the second game of the day, the Pilgrims faced Pioneer. It was an exciting shootout lasting 10 innings long.

On the day, Jillian Smith and Hayley Brown were both 3-5 while the Pilgrims ended with 13 hits. The score was tied at 4-4 and in the bottom of the 9th with Bailey Brown on 3rd base waiting to score, but unfortunately the plays didn’t happen. When Plymouth went back on defense, Pioneer had a lead off double by Kirsten Zorse and April Wheeldon followed with an RBI double before the Pilgrims ended the inning.

In the final 3 outs, the Pilgrims put the ball in play, but no one made it on base to keep the game going thus ending in a 5-4 loss. The Pilgrims play at Goshen tonight and then face Wawasee in their first Teacher Appreciation Game Night on Wednesday at Centennial Park.
