State Senator Randy Head was named chair of the Senate Committee on Local Government for the 119th General Assembly.
The Local Government Committee gives lawmakers the ability to address issues specific to the cities, towns and rural communities around Indiana.
Head said, “I look forward to leading this committee as we will likely discuss key issues like annexation during the 2015 session.”
Head was also appointed to the Senate committees of:
• Civil Law
• Commerce and Technology
• Elections
• Judiciary
• Utilities

The 2015 legislative session ceremonially began Tuesday, November 18, with Organization Day. Legislators will reconvene January 6, and by law must conclude by April 29 this year.
