In May the North Central Indiana Association of Realtors conducted a Shred for Food event fundraiser for the Marshall County Neighborhood Center.
On May 17th citizens, organizations and businesses were invited to bring papers that they wanted to dispose of but needed to have them shred because of personal information on them such as names, addresses, account numbers and more. A donation of $5.00 was asked for the shred held in the K Mart parking lot.
The event was a huge success raising $670 for the Neighborhood Center. The North Central Indiana Association of Realtors was so pleased with results that they have already scheduled the Shred for Food fundraiser for May 2, 2015.
The funds raised will be used to purchase food items to help stock the shelves at the Neighborhood Center’s food pantry. The Pantry is open on Mondays from 1 to 3, Wednesdays from 5 to 7 and Fridays from 9 to 11. Families who need assistance with food should bring proof of address and be prepared to complete some simple paperwork.
