Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) Health Insurance Services LLC, has locations in South Bend, Mishawaka and Plymouth to help its community understand what health insurance options are available.
Open Enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace begins Saturday and ends Feb. 15, 2015. As of Jan. 1, 2014, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires everyone legally living in the United States to have a health insurance plan. The ACA gives millions of individuals with too little or no insurance access to health plans at different levels.
“We believe everyone has the right to access affordable healthcare,” said Sondra Gardetto, manager, Health Insurance Services. “We want you to have the information needed to make an informed decision about your healthcare. We are committed to being a resource for this community, especially for those who are most vulnerable.”
On Saturday, plans became available for individuals to view at the online Health Insurance Marketplace, also known as the Exchange. Coverage will include:
• Doctor visits
• Hospital stays
• Wellness care
• Prescriptions
• Emergency services
• Maternal and newborn care
• Pediatric care
• Other services as outlined by the plan
Locally SJRMC-Health Insurance Services offers a location in Plymouth where individuals and families can learn more about their options from licensed health insurance agents at no cost. The office is located inside the Marshall County Community Resource Center at 510 West Adams Street in Plymouth.
The SJRMC-Health Insurance Services staff encourages anyone with questions to visit one of its locations. Appointments may be scheduled at 855-887-5633. Walk-ins are accepted but those with appointments will have first priority.
