Heartland Artists Gallery is now showing the SMALL WONDERS ART SHOW. The gallery saw a lot of curious visitors and buyers the first day of the new show! The name of the show – Small Wonders refers to the prospectus condition that all entries whether 2D or 3D may not exceed a 12 x 12″ maximum. Many art mediums are represented through varied artists talents including pottery, jewelry, oil painting, photography, glass on copper, wooden sculptures, water color and pastels … Small Wonders Art Show runs from April 29th – May 30th. There will be a Small Wonders Reception and Open House for artists and the community at the Gallery from 1:00-4:00 Sunday, May 4th.

The Juried Show judge was Herb Eveland from Plymouth. His review of this show, “As in previous shows that I have judged, THE QUALITY OF THE ARTWORK IS SUPERB. The variety of the media was also commendable. Selecting the awards was extremely difficult. As a former art teacher of PHS for 35 years, I extended my ability to look for high quality in techniques, skills and imagination. I found them high in all these pieces.”

The winners of the Small Wonders juried show include: Marilyn Kruger received Best of Show with her oil painting titled – ‘Two Apples & a Pear’. Lisa Bemish received 1st Place with her oil painting titled ‘White Markings’, Jayne Jacobson received 2nd place with her glass on copper piece titled ‘Water Lily’ and Jennifer Calhoun received 3rd place with her oil painting titled ‘Autumn Fruit’. The Mayor’s Choice and a People’s Choice Award will be announced later in the month.
