SplashPadPlymouth Park Superintendent Mike Hite told members of the park board that they continue to struggle and learn the program for the splash pad in River Park Square. Currently the splash pad is open from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m.
Not just a splash pad but a water feature, the attraction runs continuously.
Hite said he plans to have a push button installed to help conserve water and save energy. Although the water is recycled through a filter system with the heat of the day there is some evaporation. He also indicated that at night and when the weather is cooler the pumps wouldn’t have to be re-circulating the water.
The push button allows those wishing to play in the water the opportunity to enjoy the splash pad for a specific time period. Hite indicated they could be set the timer from 15 to 60 minutes.
