PLYMOUTH – Plymouth’s St. Thomas Episcopal Church will be having a rummage sale to support their Non-Food Pantry at the church.

The sale will be Saturday June 14 from 8 a.m. To 5 p.m at the church at 412 Center St. in Plymouth. Items on sale include baby and children’s items, adult clothing, kitchen items, furniture and home décor items. All money made from the sale will go to support the church’s non-food pantry efforts.

St. Thomas Episcopal Church began the non-food pantry about 18 months ago, as a complement to the Neighborhood Center’s Food Pantry. They provide personal hygiene items, diapers and household cleaning items.

The non-food pantry is open for two hours every Wednesday evening, to coincide with the Neighborhood Center’s Food Pantry. The Center refers their clients down the street to St. Thomas for their non-food needs.

Originally the church began by serving a few dozen families. but the need has grown every month until now St. Thomas averages 50-60 families a week (they can only come one week a month), or about 250 plus different families a month.

The Non-Food Pantry is funded almost entirely by St. Thomas congregation through pledges. The need is growing much faster than they can keep up with it. Profit from the rummage sale items will all go to help meet that need.
