PLYMOUTH – Police and rescue crews were called to Michigan Road just north of 7B Road on Wednesday just after noon for a three car accident that required MedFlight transport of one of the drivers.

A blue Chrysler 300M driven by Summer L. Scott, 47 of Syracuse was traveling south on Michigan Road intending to turn east into Ev & Jayne’s Irish Inn north of 7B Road. A semi tractor and trailer driven by Lavern Sampier, 43 of Brownstown Michigah, was traveling south behind Scott and did not realize she was stopping to turn.

Sampier then rear-ended vehicle Scott’s vehicle, causing Scott to be pushed into the path of a Ford Escape being driven by Cheryl K. Kuhn, 46 of Plymouth who was traveling north on Michigan Road.

Sampier did not sustain any injuries as a result of the crash. Scott was transported to Memorial Hospital-South Bend by helicopter for injuries sustained in the crash. Kuhn had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center-Plymouth for her injuries. The extent of the injuries are unknown at this time, but they are not believed to be life threatening. 

Marshall County Police were assisted at the scene by the Plymouth Police Department, Plymouth Fire Department and EMS, Lyon’s Towing, and Carnegie Towing.
