Plymouth Speedway logo_2011Two drivers in a tight race in the National UMP Modified Division will go side-by-side in a battle for the points Saturday night at Plymouth Speedway.

Jacob Poel currently sits just above Jamie Lomax on the national leaderboard and Poel will go up against Jamie Lomax at Lomax’s home track. Lomax is the leader in points in the Swan Lake Resorts UMP Modified Division at Plymouth Speedway and is looking to inch higher in the national standings with a win over Poel on Saturday night.

Will Poel build up his points lead in dominating fashion or will Lomax show Poel how it’s done at the Playground of Power?

The answer will come at the end of the feature as they battle it out on the fastest dirt track in Northern Indiana on Saturday, Aug. 2.

The drivers in the Dickies Restaurant 600 Sprints, Thunder Stocks and the Super Streets Divisions have had close finishes in the past few weeks. The drivers will be in the hunt for track position and the most points possible as the season is drawing to a close.

Bring the family for a chance to ride along in a race car on the track. Tickets will be sold for this once in a lifetime opportunity. One lucky fan will have the chance to experience what it’s like while inside a car on the race track. All of the proceeds will be given to a local charity.

Family affordable concessions and a night of racing – what more could you ask for?

How about this – the UMP Dirt Super Late Models are coming to Plymouth Speedway for the only time this year on Aug. 9 and NASCAR driver Tony Stewart will be racing in the Bob Newton Hoosier Tire Classic on Aug. 16. The season championships will be Aug. 23.

Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m. ET.
