Police HandcuffsOn Sunday morning at 11:51 Officer John Weir initiated a traffic stop in the 1,000 block of North Michigan Street on 28 year old Jorge T. Terrones of Plymouth. Torrones was known to be driving while suspended with a prior charge for the same offense. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $1,505 cash bond. Mr. Terrones was released later on Sunday after posting bond and was issued a September 9th Superior Court II date for his initial hearing.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
