Body_YellowRiver_vehiclesPlymouth Police, the Department of Natural Resources and the Marshall County Coroner’s office are investigating the discovery of a body found in the Yellow River.

Body_YellowRiver_bridgeMarshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger said the original call came in about 6:15 Thursday evening. The unknown adult male was located in the river off the end of Lynn Drive on the city’s southwest side by a couple of kayakers. At this time they do not have a positive identification on him.
Body_YellowRiver_DNR TruckDNR and police gathered on the Charles O. Glaub Bridge on Glenn Overmyer Drive getting their plan of action prior to heading over to Lynn Street with Plymouth Fire to recover the body.
Body_YellowRiver_vehicles close upThe body was transported to Fort Wayne Thursday night by Cleavenger and Deputy Coroner Lilly Mansfield with an autopsy planned for Friday.
Clevenger confirmed that the Department of Natural Resources is handling the investigation.
