01/14/14 With increased numbers of the H1NI flu virus appearing in Michiana, as well as an anticipated surge in the number of Influenza cases expected over the next few weeks, Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) is announcing preventative steps being taken to curb the spread of the H1N1 and Influenza viruses.

 

Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center’s commitment is for the safety and well being of its patients, visitor and staff.   SJRMC is taking additional precautions to prevent the spread of the Influenza virus by limiting visitors to its campus’s including the Plymouth facilities.

 

Effective immediately, the following visitation restrictions will be in place:

·               No one under the age of 18 will be permitted to visit.

·               Only healthy adults will be allowed to visit.

·               Only 2 visitors at a time per patient.

 

Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center is asking that anyone with the flu or flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, runny nose, headache, body aches), in addition to anyone that has been exposed to someone with the flu or flu-like symptoms in the last five days to please stay home and take care of yourself.

 

The hospital apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, however feels it is important to take these preventative steps for the protection of all.
