Xaver, JeanineJeanine M. Xaver announced Friday her candidacy for the upcoming caucus to complete the unfulfilled term of retiring City of Plymouth Clerk-Treasurer Toni L. Hutchings. The City of Plymouth Clerk-Treasurer serves as the fiscal officer of the city. She also serves as the secretary and record-keeper for the Common Council and also performs those functions for the Board of Public Works and Safety. The Clerk-Treasurer has the responsibility to keep records of council proceedings including the recording of all notes, and preserving all papers related to its business; present ordinances, orders or resolutions to the mayor for approval, prepare and keep an ordinance book, have charge of all documents and books entrusted to her by statue or ordinance; administer oaths when necessary in the discharge of the clerk’s duties; and keep the city seal.

Xaver has worked for the City of Plymouth Clerk-Treasurer since 1987. She was first appointment Deputy Clerk-Treasurer by Beverly J. Curtis in 1992; and in 1996, Xaver was named Deputy Clerk-Treasurer by newly elected Clerk-Treasurer Toni L. Hutchings. Xaver currently serves as the Recording Secretary for the Plymouth Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals and the Plymouth Board of Aviation Commissioners. During her 27 years of service to the City of Plymouth, Xaver has worked as Payroll Clerk, and has learned the various duties of the Human Resource Director, Accounts Payable Clerk and Utility Clerk.

Xaver is looking forward to the challenges facing the Office of the Clerk- Treasurer and continuing her service to the citizens and employees of the City of Plymouth as Clerk-Treasurer.

Xaver is a life-long resident of the City of Plymouth. She graduated from Plymouth High School, earned her Associate’s Degree from Indiana University South Bend and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Indiana University East.

Xaver is the daughter of Irene Xaver and the late Francis Xaver. She is a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, where she serves on the Pastoral Council. Xaver’s son, Zachary Bridgman, is a member of the 82nd Airborne in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he proudly serves in the U.S. Army.
