Plymouth Fire Chief, Rod Miller presented members of the Board of Public Works and Safety with this department’s March activity report.
There were a total of 157 alarm calls in March. 123 were for EMS while 11 times emergency responders were cancelled en route and there were 7 medical assists.
Plymouth Fire responded to 5 natural vegetation fires, an outside rubbish fire, one structure fire, an electrical wiring issue, one call for steam mistaken for smoke and a system malfunction.
There were also 3 unintentional system operations, and 3 good intent calls.
Fire and EMS had a total of 285 hours of training in March.
Looking at the March fire calls, there were 95 in Plymouth, 27 in Center Township, 24 in West Township and 4 in Argos. Paramedic assists included 5 for Walkerton and 1 each in Argos and Culver.
