Crash_US31_MichiganRoad_1Emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of US 31 and Michigan Road, south of Plymouth Friday morning about 11:45 for a three vehicle crash.

Crash_US31_MichiganRoad_226 year old Sierra Winters of Argos was traveling northbound on US 31 near 12B Road in the right lane in a 2009 PT Cruiser.  As she approached the intersection of Michigan Road, she crossed over into the left lane to make a left hand turn onto Michigan Road. Winters failed to see a motorcycle in the passing lane and pulled into its path.  The 2013 Harley Davidson was driven by 21 year old Brody Townsend of Rochester.

Crash_US31_MichiganRoad_3The motorcycle collided with the back end of the PT Cruiser and Townsend fell from the motorcycle and come to rest just north of the intersection.

Crash_US31_MichiganRoad_4The PT Cruiser continued through the intersection towards the southbound lanes of US 31 and stuck a trailer being pulled by a 2014 Chevrolet Pick-up being driven by Louis Frick of Bremen.  The impact causing disabling damage to the front end of the PT Cruiser and to the trailer being pulled by vehicle the pick-up.

Sierra Winters was taken to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth with a complaint of neck pain.  Brody Townsend was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for a complaint of pain to the head and right leg.   None of the injuries were life threatening.

Alcohol was not a factor with any of the drivers.

Marshall County Police Officer Andrew Wozniak investigated the crash.
