Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger said early Wednesday afternoon, that despite some social media reports, 9 year old Emiliano Ramirez-Zuniga was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The boy was not ejected nor thrown about the vehicle when it was struck at the middle of the right passenger compartment by a southbound pick-up truck at the intersection of State Road 331 and 3rd Road.
Cleavenger said that Emiliano suffered traumatic head and right chest injuries that would be consistent with death occurring almost immediately after impact.
Cleavenger said that the cause of the crash and circumstances are the responsibility of the law enforcement agencies.
