Students in Mrs. Kendall Hoover’s kindergarten class at Washington Discovery Academy got a special visit last week from a one-week old baby goat from Miller’s Goats and Gardens.
The students got to learn how a goat moves, unlike humans goats bounce and jump a lot to get from place to place.
Did you know a baby goat under 6 months of age is called a kid? It’s true and the term is used for both male and female baby goats.
The goat made a stop in all four kindergarten classes at WDA. Her owner, Mrs. Miller said she doesn’t have a name yet because she was going to her new family that evening. She will be raised for her milk and she will be a farm pet.
A corn snake will be the next visitor after spring break and it might not be a cute as the other animals the students have had visit.
