Plymouth Community SchoolsThe Plymouth School Board is expected to consider appointing both a new Assistant Superintendent and a Director of Quality Programs during a school board meeting scheduled for March 3. Prior to the public meeting, the Board will meet in executive session to receive information concerning candidates for the positions.

The Assistant Superintendent position was left open when former Assistant Superintendent, Dan Funston, resigned effective January 9, 2015 to accept as position with Five Star Technologies as their Director of eLearning. In February, the Board appointed Andy Hartley as the Interim Assistant Superintendent. At that time, Hartley was the principal at Washington Discovery Academy.

Brooke Busse was appointed at the February School Board meeting to oversee the Director duties. Former Director, Michele Riise, left the Plymouth Schools at the end of December, 2014 to accept a position as Superintendent of Argos Schools. Busse had been serving as the PCSC eLearning Coach.

Other items listed on the agenda for the March 3 meeting include a report on Sat/ACT Scores and a follow-up on the previous graduating class of PHS; a presentation of proposed summer schools offerings at PHS; and consideration of a lease agreement with Apple.

Two requests for student trips will also be considered. The BPA Club (Business Professionals of America) is seeking permission to attend competition for 24 students from April 15-17 in Indianapolis.

The Robotics Club is asking to attend an out-of-state trip from April 7-10 in Council Bluff, IA to participate in the CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship and VEX National Robotics Tournament. The request is for eleven students and their chaperones.

The regular meetings are open to the public; however, comments from the audience are allowed on agenda items only.

The regular meeting will convene at 7:00 P.M. following the Executive Session.
