Zuniga (1024x575)FORT WAYNE, IN – South Side High School senior, Karen Zuniga, recently signed her National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Letter of Intent to continue her soccer career at Ancilla College.

Zuniga is a 5’6” center midfielder and a girls’ soccer varsity letter recipient for the Archers of South Side. Under head coach Kyra Thompson, Zuniga finished her senior season 2-13-1 overall and 1-6 in the Summit Conference.

She has also received her varsity letter in swimming and her certificate in basketball. In school, Zuniga was also a part of the French National Honors Society.

“I am so happy that Ancilla has given me the opportunity to continue my soccer career and educational career,” remarked Zuniga. “I look forward to contributing to the team and the community. My future has become so much brighter now that I have been given this opportunity.”

“Karen is an accomplished student athlete,” commented Ancilla Women’s Soccer Coach Justin Crew. “Her commitment in the classroom and on the field will be a great asset to our school and program. She is another fantastic addition to the Ancilla family.”

Karen is the daughter of Maria Marquez of Fort Wayne, IN.
