11156379_1572877136315529_1268544155755899962_nDONALDSON, IN – Ancilla freshman and Elkhart native, Khadijah Moore was recently named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American for the Lady Charger Basketball team’s 2014-2015 season.

Moore is the first women’s basketball player at Ancilla College to ever receive the NJCAA All-American honor.  During her first season at Ancilla, the Lady Chargers finished their season 12-18 and qualified for the NJCAA District G tournament. Moore garnered top player honors while breaking the season scoring record at Ancilla with 646 points; good for 6th in the nation for the NJCAA. She also received the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Conference Player of the Year. Other honors garnered by the Charger Freshman include NJCAA All-Region and MCCAA Freshman of the Year.

“Khadijah Moore has had one of the more memorable season an individual player has had in our program,” said Ancilla women’s basketball coach Tom Robbins. “The year-end accolades, just seem to keep coming her way. The scary thing is how much room she has for improvement still. Her sophomore year should be really special.”

Gene Reese, Ancilla College Athletic Director commented, “It is exciting to see that we have been awarded our second NJCAA All-American this year in Ancilla Athletics.”

Moore, has also been invited to the NJCAA All-Star weekend in Niceville, Florida July 23-26th, 2015.
