lockdown
Chuck Kitchell, Director of Operations for the Culver Community Schools confirmed to WTCA that Culver schools are on a “soft” lockdown.

Kitchell said a “general threat” was discovered on twitter with no specific school mentions but Rochester, Caston and Winamac are taking precautions with similar lockdowns.

A “soft lockdown” at Culver means the perimeter of the buildings are locked according to Kitchell, “which is typical, although we are watching who is coming or going much closer.”  He also confirmed that a police officer is in each of the buildings.

Parents of students in the Culver Community School should have received a school reach message indicating the situation.

When asked about plans to release students at the end of the day Kitchell said, “We plan to release as normal.”
