Argos_Valedictorian Melissa Golden 2015Melissa Jean Golden, daughter of Sam and Michelle Golden, has earned the distinction of being named the Valedictorian of Argos High School’s Class of 2015.  Melissa has earned a 4.14 on a 4.0 scale.

Melissa has been active in numerous school organizations and activities during her four years at Argos Jr.-Sr. High School.  She has participated in Pep Band, Marching Band and Concert Band for four years.  She has been a member of the Softball team also for four years.   She has been chosen to be in Junior National Honor Society, National Honor Society and represented Argos on the Quiz Bowl Team.   She also served as her class Treasurer.  She is a ten year member of 4-H and has earned numerous awards and honors in 4-H.

Melissa has received the following awards:  Outstanding Student in Spanish I, English 9, English 10, English AP 12, Geometry, Algebra II, Calculus, Biology, Integrated Chemistry/Physics, Animal Science, World History, as well as Americanism Test Winner, Academic Excellence Award, Four Year Honor Roll Award and Academic Honors Plan.

Melissa has also received the following scholarships:

Olive K. Smith Scholarship, Al and Eva Mathiesen Scholarship, Purdue Marquis Scholarship, Samuel Elliiott Perkins IV Memorial Scholarship, Ella M. Leeper Scholarship and Argos Dollars for Scholars Scholarship.

Melissa plans to attend Purdue University to major in Pre-Veterinary Science.   Her ultimate goal is to become a veterinarian.

 

Argos_SalutatorianTaylor O'Dell 2015Taylor Wade O’Dell, son of Chris and Laurie O’Dell, has earned the distinction of being named the Salutatorian of Argos Jr.-Sr. High’s Class of 2015.  Taylor has earned a 4.00 on a 4.0 scale.

Taylor has been active in numerous school organizations and activities during his four years at Argos Jr.-Sr. High School.  He was involved in basketball for four years serving as captain during his senior year.    He was a member of Argos Business Professionals of America and ECO Club where he served as president.  Taylor also represented Argos as a delegate to Boys State.

Taylor has received the following awards:  Outstanding Student in English 9 Writing, English 10, Algebra II, World History, Government, Economics, Spanish III, Spanish AP, as well as Academic Excellence Award, Four Year Honor Roll Award and Academic Honors Plan.

Taylor has also received the following scholarships:

NiSource Employee Scholarship, IU Provost Scholarship, Max and Lois Edmonds Scholarship and Argos Dollars for Scholars Scholarship

Taylor plans to attend Indiana University Bloomington where he will study Computer Science and minor in Forensics.  His ultimate goal is to pursue a position with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the field of computer forensics.
