vote_2 Go VoteMark Thompson, the Walnut 1 Republican Township Precinct Committee Chairman has released detail for the Town Convention.

Registered republicans will gather on Tuesday, August 18th at the Argos Community School Auditorium.  Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., to start verifying eligibility of voters.  A government photo ID is required to enter.

The Argos Republican Convention is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Republicans will vote for a clerk-treasurer.  The incumbent Patty Jones will be challenged by Lisa Mullaney for the clerk’s position.  Argos republicans will also determine which three candidates will make the November ballot.  There are five running for the three town council seats on the republican ticket; Edward Barcus, Craig Ellis, Charles Randy Snead, Julie Stauffer and the incumbent Mark VanDerWeele.

Marshall County Clerk, Deb VanDeMark said they will have poll books to verify everyone eligibility to vote and the voting will be conducted in two rounds.  The first round will be to select the clerk treasure and the second round will determine those who will be on the ballot in November for the town council seats.

Chairman Thompson said, “Once the convention has started nobody will be allowed to enter the building.”
