Driving Without a licenseA Maryland man was arrested Thursday night following a traffic stop at US 30 and Michigan Street.

Plymouth Police Officer Ben McIntyre stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at 11 o’clock.  During his investigation it was learned that the driver, 30 year old Jose Enrique Mejia-Orellano of Catonsville, MD had never received a driver’s license from Indiana or any other state.   He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for Operator Never Licensed.

 

Sunday evening about 6:30 Officer McIntyre conducted a traffic stop at US 30 and Plymouth Goshen Trail.  34 year old Nicolas Vicente of Fort Wayne was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license with a prior charge. He was taken into custody and lodged in the County Jail.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
