Plymouth_Logo_2014Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter is excited to announce a new event!  The Mayor’s Month of Music will take place at the Performance Stage at River Park Square on each Friday evening in August.  “I love the music that the Park Department has brought to the stage at River Park Square in June and Encore Performing Arts does an amazing job with the entertainment they bring to the Young Amphitheater in July.  I want to continue the fun on into August!”

The Mayor’s Month of Music will be similar to the Encore Performing Arts events.  The concession stand will be open at River Park Square for snack and drink items.  The Mayor’s Youth Council will be on hand to serve you.  You are also welcome to pack a picnic and a cooler and bring your own snacks and beverages.  You could also grab a to-go order from one of our downtown restaurants and bring it on down to the park.

Here is the line-up…

August 7th will be “Shots Fired” playing a variety of your favorites from Pink, Miranda Lambert and Gretchen Wilson, to Neil Young, Puddle of Mudd and AC/DC.

August 14th Mike Lintner and Randy Jones, “The Backroad Troubadours” will entertain with  a nice blend of country, folk, and light rock mixed in with a lot of fun!

August 21st “Chad VanHerk” will help you relax with mellow acoustic six-string music and thoughtful lyrics sung with his airy, soothing vocals.

Closing out the month, on August 28th “Duke Tumatoe & The Power Trio” come to Plymouth.   Chicago-born Duke Tumatoe is a musician and showman who has retained a firm career by fusing gritty R&B, rock, blues, and funk injected with equal parts humor and gut-level sincerity.  Duke Tumatoe & The Power Trio is being sponsored by the Plymouth Downtown Merchants.

The music will start at 6:00 pm and last for 3-4 hours.   So mark your calendars, grab your lawn-chairs or a blanket to spread out, pack a picnic and come on down to River Park Square for The Mayor’s Month of Music!
