On Friday, April 24th at 5:30 a.m. Patrolman Matt Geiger with the Bourbon Police Department stopped a clack, Chevy Monte Carol with expired license plates. During the investigation it was found that the driver, Wayne M. Davis of Plymouth was a habitual traffic violator. Mr. Davis was placed in custody and during the impound process of the vehicle; Officer Geiger located a substance that was later tested positive for marijuana.
Davis was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $3,000 cash bond.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
