On Monday, March 27th the Plymouth Police Department received a report of a woman who had been battered by her boyfriend at the Carriage Green Apartments.

Officer Ray West investigated the alleged incident and determined that there was sufficient evidence to arrest the victim’s boy friend, 19 year old Juan Hernandez of Plymouth.

Mr Hernandez was located and taken into custody and booked for strangulation, domestic battery in the physical presence of a child 16  years or younger and possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $3,505 bond.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
